A ten-year partnership.

When we began work with Durham Toffee Company, they had an excellent product, a starter logo, limited packaging, and no website. We were excited by the whole-hearted love of their product from friends and family, their local, homemade approach to business, and their clear vision: create sweet gifts that foster connection.

Ten years later, Durham Toffee is a four-time "Best of Durham" winner, ships across the country, supplies a carefully selected network of local retailers, and runs one of the most beloved corporate gifting programs in the Triangle.

We've been with them every step of the way: as their branding partner, their web team, their marketing department, and their product development sounding board.

What We've Built

What we've built together.

We built durhamtoffee.com from the ground up on Shopify, with custom design, personalized creative, seasonal offerings, and an optimized checkout with upselling. The site now handles both direct-to-consumer sales and the growing corporate gifting business.

We refined and enhanced the Durham Toffee identity from their clear vision, reinforcing the warm, family-forward tone of voice that still defines the brand today.

Every bag and gift box you see on the shelf was designed in collaboration with Byrd House. We're most proud of the packaging. It has to stand out on a crowded retail shelf and feel worthy of being handed to someone as a gift.

We run Durham Toffee's social media, email marketing, and paid campaigns year-round. Our focus is smoothing the seasonality curve, turning a business that used to spike hard in November and December into one with steady demand across all four quarters. We do that by reinforcing their warm, family focus with slices of life, testimonials, and hands-down fun advertising.
